During the evaluation, we take our responsibility seriously to help you become well informed, so that together we can make the best choice of manufacturer, model, style, and technology for your hearing healthcare needs.

Styles

Of course we would all want an "invisible hearing aid". Due to recent advances in micro-circuitry and consumer demand, hearing aid manufacturers have almost achieved this goal. However; sometimes the "smallest" aid does not always provide the BEST hearing improvement or BEST comfort.

Our audiologists will thoroughly evaluate your hearing loss and determine the BEST style of hearing aids for YOU based upon:

  • Your degree and type of hearing loss
  • Your lifestyle
  • Your cosmetic considerations
  • Your financial means
  • Your work/professional environment

Behind-the-Ear Open Fit (BTE)
Receiver-in-the-Ear (RIC)

Cosmetically appealing, appropriate for a wide range of hearing loss. Most adaptable to reprogramming if hearing changes over time.

In-the-Canal (ITC)

Small hearing aid, custom-fit, small battery (shorter battery life). Requires good hand dexterity. Slightly more visible than CIC.

In-the-Ear (ITE)

Most visible custom-fit, offers more gain than smaller custom aids. Sometimes a good option for those with poor manual dexterity.

Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC)

Least visible custom-fit, small batteries (shorter battery life). Requires good hand dexterity.
